Luke 2

It has become a tradition in our family for a young one to memorize and recite some of Luke 2 during our Christmas festivities. Violet is almost ready for a turn this year (minus a few skipped or mispronounced words). Here is video of Violet following in cousin Guy's footsteps (posted especially for those that can't see her do it in person).

Translation:

Luke 2
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

Way to go, Vi. That was really cute and Sarah enjoyed listenting to it. She said, "Vi?" I was so excited to hear her say her name. Anara looks great as well. Hopefully, we can get together sometime over break.

That is great! I still think it is amazing, even though you say they are great memorizers. She doesn't even stop for a breath!

Dear Violet,
When you said, like the Angels, "Do not be afraid," you made my heart feel very warm. It made me want to give Jesus a great big hug. Thank you for telling us the story of Jesus' birth. I'd listen to you tell that story any day of the year!
Love,
Cousin Lydia

I was able to witness Guy doing his "reading" at Nathan's birthday party. We were all amazed. We all know the story, but to hear it from a child adds a certain something.

Man. Noah couldn't even pronounce half those words--and he's a month older!!

Very cute--and how much will that serve her in the future!
