Woo hoo

Anara's 1st surgery in the U.S.
Anara yesterday (7 surgeries later)
Yesterday was short and sweet. We were expecting an overnight stay but we were allowed to go home shortly after the procedure. Anara wasn't able to keep anything down last night but she hasn't puked this morning. He removed one sizable stone and explored her bladder to make sure that there were no other foreign bodies. He is hoping that the stone was leftover from the Jan. procedure and not a completely new stone. He said a piece could have been hiding in the folds of her reservoir and started this new Proteus outbreak. We are praying for no more bladder stones. She has a catheter taped in her stoma and a suprapubic tube hanging out the other side of her abdomen. She is a little annoyed at being back in diapers but there is no other convenient way to catch the urine coming out of the tubes.

Dr. Kaefer had a plastic surgeon come in and take a look at her belly button. He said it didn't look right because of her lack of fat tissue. Hopefully when she has a little more belly fat (if she ever does) it will start looking more like a belly button. If it doesn't, he will make another one later. Too bad we can't just relocate the g-tube scar because it looks like a belly button.

Stoned from Versed

Eating a popsicle with eyes that wouldn't open -they were probably heavy from morphine. We saw the popsicle again later.

Ooh. And it was a red popsicle too. Hope you didn't see that on any carpet! Anara has come so far since that first picture.
