Anara made it through a long night of prep work and according to the surgeons prior to taking her in, "looked great." No sign of any diaper rash or anything else that would have been any concern. Thanks so much to all of you who prayed. It was kind of hard handing her off to the nurse to be taken into surgery, but we had a good, reassuring meeting with the head surgeon shortly after and feel very confident with the care she is getting. She's been in surgery for about 3 hours now, and the first phase is complete--the cutting of her pelvic bones to bring the pubic bone together and allow the bladder to be kept inside.
The surgery is expected to take probably close to 12 hours, so it's going to be a long day here in the waiting room. Amanda and I have lots of family and friends here throughout the day to keep us company, though. Amanda didn't get any sleep at all last night, so hopefully she'll have some chance to catch up on a few hours of sleep here or there, too. We'll try to keep posting to give updates.

Yeah, thanks for keeping us posted. I was hoping to hear something soon. Tell Amanda she can call me anytime. I am praying!
The nurse came out just now and said she is doing great , getting blood but holding her own.
Riley is an amazing place.
Praying for your baby!
I'm praying throughout the day, every chance I get! I'm glad to hear everything is going well! God is so good! I'm glad He's the one in control.
Mike and I are continuing to pray for Anara. Alot of people from Englewood have called to get updates.
